2018 – Your best year yet!

“We must be willing to get rid of the life we’ve planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us. The old skin has to be shed before the new one can come.” —Joseph Campbell

The new year is when we all do it. We all proclaim to the world we will resolve to lose those last 20 lbs, get out of debt, spend more time with the kids, etc. Funny thing is these are often the same goals we make the last year and the year before, hell probably the last 5 years.

Why are we still making the same resolutions and failing year after year?

My pastor said to us this past Sunday that in order to reach goals we have never reached before we must become a different person. We must become the kind of person that we need to be to reach those goals.

We must change ourselves to change our circumstances.

See the problem? We all have it backwards. We foolishly believe that if we got out of debt we would give more or if we would just lose a little weight we would feel comfortable actually going to the gym. These are backwards.

Do you want to accomplish your goals in 2018?

You must endure the difficult and uncomfortable in order to change into the person that you need to be to accomplish your goals.

Motivation come after action, not before. Don’t wait, be uncomfortable, take action TODAY.

I was reviewing my 2017 goals and realized I only accomplished maybe 20% of them. Then I went back to my 2016 goals and saw the same thing. I realized I had the same goals from 2015 too! You know why I didn’t accomplish those goals? I am the same person I was. Still negotiating, compromising and making excuses.

2018 will be different because I will be different.

So let’s take a look at my 2018 goals!
